Entry Form: Themes: Bed, Music, Magical Girl Explanations: My magical girl has the power to put people to sleep, she flies around the city at night and lulls people to sleep with her pan-flute. She is themed like a sheep (since you count sheep to fall asleep) and wears a cute little nightgown with puffy bloomers and slippers with puffballs on them. Her dress has glowing sand on it because she is like the sand man, with a play of her pan-flute she emits magic dust (or sand) that puts you to sleep. Your favorite part: The freckles that she has are colored like the magic dust on her dress (I like to say they look like stardust), its king of a small detail but I think it pulls it all together. Your theme suggestion: The sky

Entry Form: Themes: Bed, Music, Magical Girl Explanations: This girl turns into a magical girl ( or witch, but they are kinda the same thing) when she goes to sleep, kinda like sleep walking. When she does so, her bed covers turn into her outfit and her toys come to life and form her mini orchestra! She roams around the city skies whille leading her toy orchestra at night in search of evil-doers to punish with their magical music ! Your favorite part: I really liked making the starry sky effects in her clothes and the backround! Your theme suggestion: Penguin!

This week's entries are in! Another difficult decision...! I wanted to cry every time such great works were submitted. I wish I could see all these characters in a series or something, they're all so interesting...! You all work so hard! Love it! I'd like to first say a word about some entries! gunny I was hoping someone would make their character fly on a bed! Absolutely love it! You drew a great pose as well, along with a pretty funny (relatable) story! I hope she can get to sleep someday! ♡GissyEva♡ You've done wonderfully this week! Just about everything about the design pulls together so nicely! The color pallet is very well chosen as well! Not to mention the great story. I just love her all around! Sanaku Oh this poor girl haha! I love the story you gave her, and the design is so silly and enjoyable. I'm especially glad you used a sheep decoration- I hoped someone might! @baphomet I just love all the ideas that went into this design! The child's bedroom decor was such a great addition. You've done lovely work here, great character! MelancholicDoves I think the color scheme you chose turned out great! The design is very fun and I can definitely see her out putting her enemies to sleep!! Love it! eternalashley Adorable design! I just love the sheep theme!! Very nice and cute idea, the outfit is adorable and I love the sparkling freckles! constantina Oh such a lovely concept! The story you gave for the character is so interesting, I want to see it in a fanime haha! The design is very adorable as well, I bet her transformation sequence would be great! I love the concept that she is actually asleep as she leads her mini orchestra. Great work! Another unique and fun design! I do have to say the song didn't count as part of the submission as a whole, but it certainly tells me you worked very hard on your idea! I love it. I can almost see her as the protagonist of some fun game! You tied all the different themes together very nicely and incorporated them in such fun ways wherever I look! Great work, and thank you for participating! For the rest of you who worked so hard this week, I applaud you! You took the time to think up great characters with great little stories behind them. I enjoyed reading each and every entry. Thank you very much for participating this week, I love all of your pieces so much!! I wish I had the time and money to reward you all. Don't be discouraged if you weren't chosen this week! Reminder I am going to try not to pick the same winner two weeks in a row, and while it might prove difficult as time passes, I'm going to try not to choose the same winner twice in the same month. You will have plenty of chances to win, though I hope you will take a great deal of the joy just from having fun designing! Also worth reminding, the more entries you send in per month, the better chance you have of winning the raffle chibi!
It's a new week! Week 3- Due Saturday April 15th, 11:59PM EST
This week's prize: 1 humanoid headshot from schribbit Entry Form: [Your image] Themes: [this week's themes] Explanations: [explain where the themes come into play in your picture] Your favorite part: [optional, but I'd love to see you give yourself a compliment!] Your theme suggestion: [Suggest 1 theme, and I might use it in next week's contest, or a future contest week. Your idea will be credited!] Themes: Water, bones, villain Explanations: You can find water in the fact he's a fish man and in seaweed clothes (his sword is also supposed to partly be a giant shark tooth...). Bones can be found in his weapon, though I tried to add in bone details where I could, such as bone claws and the random bone spikes on his elbows/heels. His teeth don't REALLY count in my opinion because that's just how an angler fish looks, but you could say it counted if you wanted to. As for villain status, while I don't think this character would be evil, I can definitely see how he'd be the antagonist to someone's protagonist. Probably when he's feeding. Your favorite part: Man, a lot of planning went into this one for no good reason hah... just wanted to practice, I guess. I'd say I'm proud I didn't go with something easy. Your theme suggestion: mother

Entry Form: Themes: Water, Bones, Villain Explanations: Legends are spoken and passed down in whispers of this twisted being. Long ago, an unnamed diver was seeking to uncover a buried treasure deep beneath the ocean blue, when a bull shark came along and bit clean through the diver's breathing tube. Given the pressure he was under accompanied by the sudden cut-off of oxygen, the diver's body exploded within the suit, the mush that remained leaking out through the cut oxygen hose and leaving only a skeleton within the old suit. The spirit, however, did not depart to the afterlife. Instead, it brewed and festered into a malicious entity, one which shaped the abandoned diving suit into the malformed creation it is today. With newfound life within this hollow diving suit, the diver's malignant spirit wanders the ocean in search of its famed prize, sinking any boats that sail into its waters and killing any that are unfortunate enough to not drown first... Your favorite part: I like the design as a whole, but probably the color palette. Its pretty simple, but I like it. Your theme suggestion: Gambling Alt Version (Without the overlay):

Themes: Water bones villian Explanations: A water goddess that was exiled from the deepest ocean for causing unnecessary water disasters. She cannot reach her physical form as a human so she uses water to for her to co-exist in the human world. Still having a lot of pent-up aggression, she kills those that get in her way, using the bone of her first human enemy as a weapon. She does this in order to be able to obtain her human. ( How the fuck did this became dark, wat.) Your favorite part: Honesty, making the design without sketching it out! Expirimentation!! :DD Your theme suggestion: Pop Idol!!!

Didn't go as crazy all out on this one. Themes: Water, bones, villain Explanations: She has a body of water, covering a bone structured skeleton, which reaches out to a villainous collar. Monocle and pirate hat included to enhance villainous design aspects. Not much here since the idea I had in mind was similar to Gisselle's submission. Story? One day, a mob of sailors thew her in a body of water. She now tells mortals that, if they put money in her hat and die for her, she will spend an eternity with them. Little do some of them know... Your favorite part: Probably going less all-out in the design allowing me to implement more of my own liberties I suppose? The style reminds me of a combination of Razorbeard and Lord Dominator. Your theme suggestion: Silly

Entry Form: Themes: Water, Bone, Villain Explanations: So I originally had a different concept but it was very similar to Tenshi's so I changed it. Anyway, here is my zombie shark mermaid. After he was hurt by humans leaving his face half torn off he decided that he wanted revenge. Now he lures humans in and eats them and sometimes he will wear their bones. So he is from the water, he wears bones of those he eats and obviously only an insane person or a villain would do that so theres the themes. Your favorite part: I like the shading in this one. I also dont draw guys often so this was good practice Your theme suggestion: technology

This week's entries are in! You guys all did such a great job this week! I'm amazed how hard you all work here, and so honored that you all take the time! I just loved all of your creativity! I'd like to first say a word about some entries! ♡GissyEva♡ She's so cute! I know she's supposed to beat me up but I just want to give her a hug haha! Though I imagine that might not be good, with her water body and all! TenshiHanka Really great design! Love it so much, great style- I could see this character as the villain in a cartoon or comic book!! I'll put money in her hat... @baphomet Ohhh great idea! I love that he seems like something that could become a legend! I can imagine him in some sort of lair with lots of bone sculptures surrounding him! Also- LOVE the bone crown!! eternalashley I want to meet him! Though he'd probably kill me, but... he's so cool looking! I just love the little bone detail on his lower fin. Great job!! Congratulations, gunny for your winning design! This design is both beautifully intricate and very interesting! The colors work very nicely together, all the themes are geniusly implemented, and the silhouette works very well! I also love the story you gave them, it feels so eerie. I would love to see this character star in their own movie, comic, etc.! Wonderful idea, wonderful job, thank you for participating! He gets his powers from their sun gods, who chose him at birth to save their people. You can find medieval in the way he dresses, sky from his wings, floating swords, and sun symbol, and fighter in the swords and armor. Your favorite part: This week I decided to just have some fun, and that's what I liked about doing this design! Your theme suggestion: clock

Entry Form: Themes: medieval, sky, fighter Explanations: I wanted to make an knight who's armor reflected weather and clouds and what not, hence the cloud cape, the 'sun' symbol on his chest as well as the lightning bolts on his gauntlets. As for the fighter, I mean.... just look at those gauntlets! He's ready to pound you into the ground! ------------ From the illustrious and fabled Kingdom in the Sky hails an order of knights dedicated to keeping the skies and weather in order! And here, we see the warrior responsible for countless deaths due to his savage storms and intense lightning strikes. Stormy Knight! It is fabled that one punch from his weighty gauntlets feels like getting struck head on by lightning, and that when he claps his hands together, it is always followed by a thunderous crack. Your favorite part: I'm just really happy with the design in general. I might use this character in a future DnD campaign Your theme suggestion: Crows

Themes: Medieval, sky, fighter Explination: She is sort of like a knight of the sky who fights evil with her sword made of clouds and light. Her hair is made of clouds and her cape also acts as wings. Her chest-plate bears her coat of arms, which is a swan with some gold around it. Her attire is based on medieval knights and her armor has a sort of cloud motif in it. Favorite Part: That cloud hair is wicked cool. Theme Suggestion: Cats

Themes: Medieval, sky, fighter Explanation: This characters like a mishmash or a plague doctor/sorcerer/knight. Probably somebody you'd meet in a JRPG or DnD campaign who casts hexes and is also tanky. ((edit: oh. uh. Here's an explanation of how I used the themes. Medieval: plague doctors were hired to treat the black death in the mid 1300s. The armor I referenced when designing their's was 14th century Italian armor. Sky: This character's got some bird motifs going on, and plague doctor masks filter air (they're probably the one making gross air seeing as how I made them a sorcerer) Fighter: Scythe, knight's armor, and spell casting.)) Favorite Part: I spent like two days getting lost in 14th century fashion and armor. I want to go back and redesign armored characters I have now as well as ones in historical dresses. Theme Suggestion: winter

This week's entries are in! Ohhhh look at all these! So good! I love them all!!! I'd like to first say a word about some entries! @baphomet Oh what a fun design! Everything goes very nicely together, the colors work so well and it feels like this character is really as your story describes! Speaking of, great little backstory! I love it, it'd be a fun idea for a series- and I'd watch it! Oh- and I love how the nose matches the beak of her hat! gunny Ah I just love all the detail you put into this! The cloud cape and designs on the helm, the sun symbol, the lightning! I just LOVE that you went with all those different aspects of weather! Great ideas there, I especially love how you described their powers and how they're practically legendary! I'd love to see you use this character in a DND campaign! eternalashley- Great work on this, love it! The cloud hair is great, love the wing cape, and great job incorporating clouds into her armor! The weapon is so interesting too! I bet it isn't heavy at all! homun - Love the emotion in this piece! I wonder who this person battles with to get such a reaction! After looking closely, I noticed and just LOVE the sword's day/night design!! Very nicely done! Congratulations, mangolee for your winning design! Wonderful work! I can tell you put a lot of effort into research. The armor design looks very well put together, and I just love the plague doctor element. Everything ties together so nicely! The concept is great, I'd love to see this character in something. I bet they'd be the coolest character in a VS game!! It's the final week of the month! Week 5- Due Saturday April 30th, 11:59PM EST
This week's prizes: 1 humanoid headshot from schribbit to weekly winner 1 fullbody humanoid request from schribbit OR $10 (Paypal USD only) to the monthly design winner 1 chibi humanoid from schribbit to the monthly raffle winner Entry Form: [Your image] Themes: [this week's themes] Explanations: [explain where the themes come into play in your picture] Your favorite part: [optional, but I'd love to see you give yourself a compliment!] Your theme suggestion: [Suggest 1 theme, and I might use it in next week's contest, or a future contest week. Your idea will be credited!] Themes: plants, healing, rainbow Explanations: You can find plants basically everywhere(moss clothes, flower accessories, flower petal hair), healing is a little harder to spot visually, but do know they have healing items in their bags. You can find rainbow in that I tried using every color of the rainbow in the little flowers. Your favorite part: Everything about this character makes me very happy lol. I love plant hair, I love eyes with bright pupils, I love the green skin... idk man this was just so much fun to make. I would love to use this character in something someday. Your theme suggestion: anchor

Themes: plants, healing, rainbow Explanations: This week's design is of a witch desperately attempting to find a 'cure all' potion for wounds, diseases and poisons! Taking note of how plant life would gradually heal itself over time through proper sunlight and water, she carved out a giant crystal into a makeshift syringe and filled it with purified water. She then dawned garments made from giant flower petals in order to absorb the sun's rays and induce photosynthesis! She channels this process, however, into the crystal's purified water through magic and thus imbuing it with white light! The light bouncing off the water causes the rainbow color to shine through, and with this rainbow elixir she travels from town to town and helps them heal their sick and dying! Your favorite part: The concept of this character, probably. I just like the idea that led to her creation. A cute girl with a giant needle arm Your theme suggestion: Teeth
