Let's face it, there's GOTTA be one thing that helps us stay motivated! So, what is it for you?
For me I have two things about it.
If I'm like secretive about certain shit, imagining people's reaction is what's helps me.
For everything, it's either friends or other people telling me "You can do it! Beleive in yourself", and heck, receiving fanart is what help me stay motivated. That and challenges. I'm quite competitive, even for animations episodes. ^^;

It's a good balance between competition and encouragement. You want self confidence but it's also nice to strive to get better. I have received both which have been beneficial for me. I also like to do secretive things as well. Just look at Kisaka's comments on Kisacar. They're hilarious lmao x].

Its so motivating to read what people thought or enjoyed. And then the drive to wanting to improve the story/characters as it goes along. I think setting tiny goals with each installment helps to keep things fresh too.

Watching magical girl series for sure because I'm a huge nerd for them. Or when my other artist friends are helping me out with stuff for my series, it really motivates me because they always tell me that "I can do it" or "I can finish it!" or if they just tell me to take my time and they're excited no matter how long it takes for me to release something.
But my main motivation is my fanart wall!! Or just receiving fanart in general because that's why I'm still doing my series ;D

Mostly my own obsession with creating. Usually for fanime I'm creating something I would like to see myself, whether it's "I want this to be finished"(Magical Girl School) or "I love this idea and want to watch it myself"(Jaden Unshaken).

I'm usually striving to create an atmosphere I've felt before, since most of my stories are based off of dreams, and I've yet to find anything that captures the same emotional response those dreams give me. So I do my best to make it for myself.
Also seeing non-professional or striving professionals putting out their content into the world (for some reason once a name gets too big I don't seek inspiration from them as much, most likely because it is harder to relate to them at my current level and my motivation comes from 'hey! I could do that too!').

I mentioned this in the Inspirations thread but there's a good video about improving your art, and in it it gives a lot of advice and motivation. If what you see in your head is 5 years ahead of your current skill level, I want to do what I can to live up to 2012 me's projected skill level.
Basically that's my motivation. To work further to what I want my work to be.

So I do my best to make it for myself. Mine is similar to this! (a lot of my stories are based off my dreams as well) I'm mostly motivated by the idea that I get to bring these characters and worlds to life.

What gives me motivation is having an idea that I haven't seen done anywhere, and want to see it. So I want to make it myself because of that. Also my sister gives me motivation

I like hearing that a lot of people have positive motivations, but my best motivator is spite.
I finish work to spite others and to spite myself for thinking I can't do something. Essentially it's sticking my mental middle finger up while drawing.
