You have ALL been challenged!
Okay. Let's face it. This forum has two feet in the grave. We need to encourage some activity here.
Let's ask ourselves, why did we join in the first place? I'm assuming it's because you like watching and creating fanimes and you wanted to meet and have fun with others who do too.
So, I'm proposing an ongoing challenge to make collaborative multi animator fanimes.
To be fair, this would probably either be posted on multiple channels or as a Fanime Zone Original Series. (Don't hate me for the title. lol It's just the most fitting one I could think of.)
For now, let's please start with just one fanime, and we probably aught to see it off to a good start before getting carried away and adding more series. ;P
Note that this can be a very short term thing for you. No long term commitments being necessary just makes it easier for everyone. Of course, sticking around if you can is always appreciated.
To join in the challenge, please just state which tasks you'd like to help with. I'll update the slots as we go. First of all, let me just explain the fanime I have in mind. It's one I've had sitting on the shelf for a long time, and it can easily be expanded on by others with their own story and character ideas.
Working Title: Kill The New Girl
Genre: Horror Dramedy
Description: When the big house on the hill is happy and suburban amidst a haunted town...
It's filled with an overly friendly, clueless family with the exception of the kids who know something is up with their "not so human" neighbors. The teenage daughter isn't like the rest of her family, and it turns out she has more in common with the town than she thought possible...Her birth mom was a witch, making her one too.
Below are some screen shots from what I had animated so far. It doesn't have to reflect on what the final thing will look like whatsoever, but I do like the houses. ;P
Okay, finally for the task slots. You can ask for as many as you want, but don't take on more than you're up for, even if it is in the short term. Also note that for now animators need to ink, flat and shade their frames too.
Writers Writers write the screenplays and outlines, while listening to everyone else's ideas, of course. | ImmortalDreams, ... |
Video Editors/Compositors The video editors bring everything together into an editing software, composite everything nicely, add voice acting, music, sounds and effects, then export the final episode. | ImmortalDreams, ... |
Character Design Artists Character design artists draw references of the characters with various poses and expressions. This is for consistency between animators, and will be especially useful in the long term. | ImmortalDreams, ... |
Background Artists Background artists draw and paint the backgrounds and other environment elements. | ImmortalDreams, ... |
Storyboard/Animatic Artists Storyboard artists create a roughly sketched, shot to shot representation of an episode. Video editors can then construct a rough cut of the final piece called an animatic. | ImmortalDreams, ... |
Key Animators Key Animators draw the key poses for an animation. The frames drawn tend to be seen the longest, so people comfortable with drawing are recommended. | ImmortalDreams, ... |
In-Between Animators In-between animators fill in the poses between the key poses. Ultimately giving the artwork motion, making everything nice and smooth and less choppy. | ImmortalDreams, ... |
Voice Actors Roles available will depend on characters people want to add to the story. I already have several in mind. Just know that there will be a wide range of voice acting options, so please raise your hand. | ImmortalDreams, ... |
Thanks for reading! I hope you join in. It's never too late.
